Hi loves! Hope you’re all having a beautiful weekend so far!
I was recently sent the new Revlon Mega Multiplier mascara from Influenster Canada and after a month of using it regularly, I figured it was time for a review! My preference for mascara is a dark black formula that lengthens and adds volume to the lashes in a “fanned out” effect. I definitely opt for a more dramatic look rather than natural and love the look of super separated and clean lashes.
On to the review!
Revlon’s claims about the mascara:
-Flake-free smudge proof formula
-Removes easily with warm water
-Brush deposits formula from lash line to tip for mega volume and extreme length
The Mega Multiplier applicator brush features a straight edge that is tapered towards the end to allow the brush to reach even the tiny lashes at the end of your eye. The formula is thick and I’d say it’s more on the dry side than wet. The formula also features a unique “fibre” effect that is supposed to plump and lengthen the lashes even further.
Watch the mascara in action below:
The biggest con I found is that this mascara seems a little clumpy. I’m the type of person that loves to layer on mascara so having to be extra careful while applying to ensure minimal clumps was a slight inconvenience.
The other con I found is that since the formula is so thick and heavy, my lashes don’t seem to hold a curl as well. Instead of just curling my lashes once before applying mascara, I often feel the need to re-curl after applying the mascara.
One of the biggest pros for me is that this mascara truly is smudge-proof! It’s one of those mascaras you can definitely rely on during a hot and humid day and can trust that when you look in the mirror you won’t have black smudges under your eye. This is easily comparable to a waterproof mascara when it comes to longevity!
In terms of length and volume, this mascara definitely lives up to it’s claims. After applying two coats, my lashes have a dark, natural and separated appearance. I really think the “fibre” effect of this mascara is what adds the extra length and volume. It allows my lashes to appear a lot thicker and more dramatic which not many mascaras are able to achieve.
The product is smooth to apply and easy to coat the lashes from root to tip with the help of the tapered applicator! It also washes off easily with warm water unlike other fibre mascaras on the market.
I’d give this mascara a 8/10 overall. If you’re looking for a drugstore mascara that will add both length and volume and are curious about the “fibre” effect, I’d definitely give this a shot! However, if you’re someone who loves to do two or three coats, this may not be the one for you.
If you do purchase this product, the best way I’ve found to use it is to layer with a mascara that excels at separating and “fanning” out specifically. I tend to use this on top of the Maybelline Lash Sensational which gives a feathery, fanned out effect and love the added darkness and volume that the Mega Multiplier adds.
Have you tried this mascara? What did you think!?
