It’s a snowy evening here in Guelph so I thought it’d be the perfect time to get some blog content together for you guys! Does anyone else feel like lounging on the couch with a candle lit is the only place to be on a snowy day?
Anyway, I recently did an amazing photoshoot with the lovely @camillab.photo and can’t wait to share some of the content we created! This look is definitely one of my faves from the shoot. How stunning is this backdrop?! As much as I sometimes resent living back in my hometown after moving away for school, seeing these photos gave me a whole new appreciation for the stunning architecture of our quaint little downtown.
As for the actual look, this baker boy style hat I’m wearing is TAKING OVER this season! It was all over Paris fashion week and I love the elevated and high-fashion feel that this little accessory can add to an outfit. You can wear it with jeans and a t-shirt to add an extra detail or even a flowy floral maxi dress and it still looks just as amazing!
If you keep up to date with my insta stories (@oliviadipede), I documented my search for the perfect baker boy hat and found that it was super super difficult to find one that fit my tiny head! Luckily, Zara kids had my back and was the perfect solution to my ongoing petite-girl struggle. Style tip for petite girls: SHOP IN THE KIDS SECTION. I seriously have no shame to scavenge the racks of the children’s section and actually do so frequently. It’s a guaranteed perfect fit and always cheaper than the woman’s section! May as well use our height to our advantage when we get the opportunity, am I right?
The top I’m wearing here came from the WHOWHATWEAR collection at Target and I love how it’s a mix of classic and modern with the timeless horizontal stripes combined with a trendy balloon sleeve. I paired it with a black denim midi skirt which I think is the perfect skirt for more coverage to transition into the cooler fall months.
For accessories, I wore my ring-detailed bag (which I’ve been wearing non-stop and will be featured in MANY more posts), Maria Pascual Japanese coin necklace and a pair of vintage kitten heel booties that I swiped from my mom’s closet! Ahhh the beauty of the cyclical nature of fashion.
