The season of Fall has always inspired an inevitable urge within me to make a change. There’s something about the leaves transitioning to carpet the ground in gold and feeling the temperature drop to a comfortable chill that beckons me to revamp my current maintenance routine. My go-to in times like this are to purchase a few new products to compliment the season and satisfy my desire for change. With the Fall colours surrounding me, I couldn’t help but cave in to purchasing deeper lip colours and revisiting some of my old-time Fall favourites. In my opinion, there’s no time like Autumn to rock a bold lip! Hopefully you find some similar Fall-spiration with my current favourites; listed below from lightest to darkest.
1. Mac Velvet Teddy
Ever since I heard the Kylie Jenner craze about this lipstick, it’s been my absolute favourite and I just HAD to include it in this list. Although it’s not a colour that is necessarily limited to Fall, it’s definitely a great peachy brown toned nude for everyday wear. I love the matte finish of this lipstick and pairing it with the Spice lipliner looks absolutely stunning.
2. Maybelline Warm Me Up
This shade was a recent discovery in my quest for a nude that was easy to apply for a quick pick-me-up without requiring a mirror. This tone works flawlessly in conjunction with my natural lip colour and gives that “my lips but better” effect. The satin finish adds the perfect amount of shine to add a natural sheen to the lips without being glossy. It’s exactly what I was looking for to compliment my olive skin and is THE perfect pinky mauve nude for an everyday look.
3. Maybelline Gone Greige
I am seriously obsessing over this shade! It’s part of the Maybelline Bold collection and at first glance I was unsure about exactly what was “bold” about this shade since it seemed relatively nude. To my surprise, when I tried this on it cast a grey/brown tint to my lips which initially made me skeptical. However, upon more wear and testing with different lipliners, I’ve totally grown to love the subtle “boldness” of this colour! It’s super unique and I love the ability it has to give you the sultry look of a deep lip without going full blown cranberry or red! Definitely give this a shot if you’re looking for a unique colour that is the epitome of Fall boldness without being over the top.
4. Mac Rebel
This is my go-to Fall lip colour and has been for the past few years! The colour in the tube initially seems intimidating as it is a deep shade of plum, but it actually translates onto the lips as a mid-tone berry! The purple undertones of this colour bring out the white in your teeth and I LOVE how wearable this colour is with many different skin tones. If you haven’t tried Mac Rebel, I’d highly recommend giving it a swatch or picking one up to test! This shade is easily one of the most iconic shades of Fall lipstick.
5. Mac Diva
This shade is probably the most bold I’ve ever gone with my lip colours! It’s a sultry shade of deep wine and is a semi-matte finish. I love this shade for a night out or wearing to a nice dinner. It’s definitely a deep colour, but it’s buildable and can be catered to your level of comfort. The great thing about this colour is that it’s super long wearing and won’t leave your lips patchy like other dark colours tend to do.
Hope you enjoyed some of my current faves! Let me know down below if you’ve tried any of these or if you have any suggestions for other colours I should try this Fall.
